IIT Madras, UNESCO Partner to Advance AI-Powered Learning

NEW DELHI, Sep 2: IIT Madras and UNESCO Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (UNESCO MGIEP) have joined hands to explore next-generation technologies aimed at transforming digital learning.
The partnership will focus on developing innovative educational solutions using artificial intelligence, extended reality (XR), game design and immersive learning technologies.
IIT Madras will contribute its expertise in emerging technologies, while UNESCO MGIEP will bring its experience in social and emotional learning and education for peace and sustainable development.
The initiative is expected to explore how advanced digital tools can make learning more interactive, engaging and accessible for students.
The collaboration comes amid growing efforts across India’s education sector to integrate artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies into teaching and learning.
By combining technological innovation with approaches focused on social and emotional development, the partnership aims to support a more holistic model of education.
