India Advises Nationals to ‘Exercise Utmost Caution’ After Israel–US Strikes on Iran
Nationals Urged to Follow Safety Protocols Amid Regional Tensions
Jerusalem, Feb 28: India has issued a security advisory for its citizens in Israel, urging them to “exercise utmost caution and remain vigilant at all times” after Israel, in coordination with the United States, launched a daylight attack on Iran’s capital.
The advisory highlighted the need for Indian nationals to strictly follow instructions from Israeli authorities and the Home Front Command. Citizens are advised to stay close to designated bomb shelters and familiarize themselves with nearby protected spaces at their place of residence or work.
Travel within Israel should be limited to essential purposes only, the advisory added, while urging citizens to monitor local news, official announcements, and emergency alerts regularly. The Indian Embassy confirmed it remains in close contact with local authorities and will provide updates as the situation evolves.
The strikes reportedly targeted areas near Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s offices in downtown Tehran, generating plumes of smoke visible across the city. Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz described the operation as a “preemptive strike to remove threats to the State of Israel.”
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) Home Front Command simultaneously issued warnings for civilians to remain near shelters, as sirens echoed across the country. Residents were instructed to avoid non-essential travel and ensure knowledge of the closest secure locations amid escalating tensions.
