India Hosts BRICS ICT Track in Pune With Focus on AI, Cybersecurity

NEW DELHI, Aug 17: India is hosting the BRICS Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Track in Pune from August 17 to 21 as part of its BRICS chairmanship, bringing together senior officials, communications ministers and technology experts from member countries.

The five day programme is being held under the theme “Innovation, Collaboration and Transformation for a Resilient Future” and will focus on emerging technologies and cooperation in the digital sector.

The discussions are expected to cover areas including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital innovation and the development of resilient communication infrastructure.

The programme comes at a time when countries are placing greater emphasis on technological cooperation, secure digital systems and the responsible adoption of emerging technologies.

India’s hosting of the ICT meetings also reflects its growing focus on strengthening international partnerships in the technology sector and encouraging collaborative approaches to digital transformation.

Officials and experts participating in the programme are expected to exchange views on technological developments and explore areas where BRICS countries can work together to build stronger and more secure digital ecosystems.

The Pune meetings are scheduled to continue through August 21, with discussions aimed at advancing cooperation among participating countries in information and communication technologies.
