The visit is aimed at laying the groundwork for Nepalese Prime Minister Balendra Shah’s proposed trip to New Delhi, which is expected to take place in the last week of November.
Misri is visiting Nepal at the invitation of Nepalese Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai. Apart from preparations for Shah’s anticipated India visit, the two sides are expected to review key aspects of their bilateral relationship and explore opportunities for closer engagement.
Upon his arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Misri was received by Gehendra Rajbhandari, Joint Secretary of Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and India’s newly appointed Ambassador to Nepal, Sudhakar Dalela.
