J&K Clinches Historic Ranji Trophy Win Over Delhi After 65 Years

Qamran Iqbal’s unbeaten 133 powers Jammu & Kashmir to landmark seven wicket victory, boosting their rise in Indian domestic cricket.

Chennai, Nov 11: Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) created history on Tuesday, defeating Delhi by seven wickets in the Ranji Trophy  their first ever win against the capital side in 65 years.

Chasing a modest target of 179, J&K was anchored by opener Qamran Iqbal, who smashed an unbeaten 133, his career-best score, guiding the team to a composed victory. The triumph was built on strong performances across the board. Auqib Nabi tore through Delhi’s first innings with a fiery 5 for 35, while captain Paras Dogra led from the front with a well crafted 106. Abdul Samad contributed a brisk 86, maintaining momentum, and young pacer Vanshaj Sharma sealed the win with a match turning spell of 6 for 68.

This victory marks J&K’s second outright win of the season and further cements their growing reputation in domestic cricket, having previously stunned teams like Mumbai, Baroda, Rajasthan, and Vidarbha. The win also lifts J&K to second place in the Elite Group D points table, trailing only leaders Mumbai.
