J&K Government Approves 90% Release of Revenue Budget Funds for 2025-26, LTC Head Gets 50%

JAMMU, Apr 9: In a key financial development, the Jammu and Kashmir Finance Department has authorized the release of 90% of the allocated funds under the Revenue Budget for the fiscal year 2025-26. The move is aimed at ensuring timely availability of resources for various departments and facilitating uninterrupted delivery of public services throughout the Union Territory.

According to the official order issued by the Finance Department, this release excludes the budgetary provision under the head “003-Leave Travel Concession (LTC),” for which only 50% of the allocated funds have been approved at this stage. The partial release under the LTC component is in line with prudent fiscal management practices and standard procedural controls, allowing scope for mid-year review based on utilization and expenditure trends.

The 90% authorization marks a proactive approach by the administration, enabling departments to plan and implement their activities more efficiently during the early part of the financial year. It is expected to streamline administrative functioning, prevent delays in procurement and service delivery, and boost developmental activities under recurring expenditures like salaries, office operations, maintenance, and other essential services.
