J&K government orders major Administrative reshuffle, transfers 179 JKAS officers

Jammu, April 30: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has ordered a massive administrative reshuffle, transferring and posting 179 Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) officers with immediate effect in the interest of administration.

According to the order, Asif Hamid Khan has been transferred and posted as Secretary in the Jal Shakti Department, while Smita Sethi has been appointed Managing Director of the J&K Housing Board. Manzoor Ahmad Qadri has been posted as Managing Director of the J&K Financial Corporation, and Mohammad Rafi has been appointed Director General, Libraries, J&K. Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza has been shifted as Member of the J&K Special Tribunal, and Rubina Kousar has been posted as Mission Director, ICPS/Vatsalya.

Among other significant postings, Mushtaq Ahmad has been appointed Director, Estates, Jammu, while Mukhtar Ahmed Chowdhary will await further adjustment orders. Nawab Din has been posted as Special Secretary in the ARI and Trainings Department. Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar has been appointed Managing Director, SIDCO, with additional charge of SICOP, while Mufti-Farid-ud-Din has been posted as Director, SKICC.

Gulzar Ahmad Dar has been posted as Additional District Development Commissioner, Kupwara, and Dr Ravi Shanker Sharma as Special Secretary in the Agriculture Production Department. Reyaz Ahmad Wani has been appointed Director, Rural Development, Kashmir, while Mohammad Younis Malik has been posted as Director, Entrepreneurship Development Institute.

Subash Chander Chhibber has been posted as Special Secretary in the General Administration Department, and Khurshid Ahmad Sanai as Secretary, J&K Services Selection Board. Raj Kumar Katoch has been appointed Special Secretary in the Planning Department, while Rifat Kohli has been posted as Special Secretary in the Housing and Urban Development Department. Nagendra Singh Jamwal has been appointed Director, Floriculture, Jammu.

Pankaj Raj Katoch has been posted as Director, Panchayati Raj, while Pawan Kumar Sharma has been appointed Director, Geology and Mining. Tassaduq Hussain Mir has been posted as Custodian General, and Narinder Khajuria as Special Secretary in ARI and Trainings. Shabir Hussain Bhat has been appointed Vice-Chairman, Srinagar Development Authority, and Ashwani Kumar Khajuria as Director, Hospitality and Protocol.

Suraj Parkash Rukwal has been posted as Special Secretary in the Tourism Department, while Sham Lal has been appointed Additional Commissioner in the Divisional Commissioner’s office, Jammu. Sukhdev Singh Samyal has been posted as Special Secretary in the Power Development Department, and Pran Singh as Joint Financial Commissioner, Agrarian Reforms.

Rakesh Kumar has been posted as Member, J&K Services Selection Board, while Khurshid Ahmad Shah has been appointed Vice-Chairman, Lakes Conservation and Management Authority. Mohammad Ashraf Hakak has been posted as Director, Estates, Kashmir, and Ashish Kumar Gupta as Director, Disaster Management.

Gulzar Ahmad Bhat has been appointed Administrator, Associated Hospitals, Srinagar, while Dr Nargis Suraiya has been posted as Special Secretary in the Higher Education Department. Deep Raj has been appointed Administrator, Associated Hospitals, Jammu, and Pardeep Singh as Managing Director, J&K Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation.

Krishan Lal has been posted as Additional District Development Commissioner, Reasi, while Nazir Ahmad Mir has been appointed Additional District Development Commissioner, Bandipora. Shafiq Ahmed has been posted as Additional Secretary in the Agriculture Production Department, and Vir Krishan Dhar as Regional Director, Survey and Land Records, Udhampur.

Shokat Mehmood has been posted as Special Secretary in the Social Welfare Department. Jahangir Hashmi has been appointed Additional Registrar, Cooperatives, Kashmir, and Atul Sharma as Managing Director, J&K Minerals Limited. Khurshid Ahmad has been posted as OSD to Advisor to the Chief Minister.

Ritu Mahajan has been posted in the Labour and Employment Department, while Subah Mehta has been appointed Joint Director, Industries and Commerce. Vinakshi Koul has been posted as Deputy Excise Commissioner, and Neelam Khajuria as Joint Director, Industries and Commerce.

Inderjeet Singh has been posted as Joint Director, Youth Services and Sports, and Priyanka Bhat as Principal, Excise and Taxation Training Institute, Nagrota. Anil Kumar Chandail has been appointed Additional Secretary in the Health and Medical Education Department, while Ajeet Singh and Pardeep Singh Chib have been shifted within the State Taxes Department.

Several other officers have been transferred and posted across departments including Rural Development, Tourism, Industries, Mining, Social Welfare, Education, and Municipal bodies. Numerous postings have also been made at the district level, including Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners, Programme Officers, and Deputy Directors to strengthen grassroots administration.

The reshuffle also includes officers awaiting adjustment who have now been assigned roles, while many have been given additional charge of posts to ensure continuity in governance.

The government has directed all officers to assume their new responsibilities immediately to ensure smooth functioning of administration across the Union Territory.
