J&K Police, Army Arrest Man With Foreign-Made Pistols and Magazines in Nowshera

J&K Police, Army Seize Foreign Made Pistols, Ammunition; One Held in Nowshera

Jammu, Feb 19: In a significant Nowshera arms recovery, Jammu and Kashmir Police, along with the Army, apprehended a man allegedly carrying foreign made weapons and ammunition in Rajouri district.

Officials said the arrest was made during a joint patrol conducted by Police Station Nowshera and Army personnel in the Raipur area of the Nowshera belt. The accused has been identified as Sachin Kumar, a resident of Sair in Nowshera.

During the search operation, security forces recovered two foreign-made pistols reportedly of Turkey and China origin  along with four magazines and 15 live cartridges. Authorities stated that the accused failed to produce any valid documentation for possessing the weapons.

A case under relevant legal provisions has been registered at Police Station Nowshera, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the source and intended use of the seized arms, officials added.
