J&K Police recovers huge quantities of Narcotics during investigation related to weapon smuggling case in Kupwara

In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Police today claimed to have recovered huge quantities of Narcotics worth crores of rupees during an investigation related to a weapon smuggling case in the Karnah area of Kupwara district.

The police said that on the 13th of this month, a joint search operation was launched by Kupwara Police and Army’s 6 JAK Rifles on a specific input, which culminated in the recovery of arms and ammunition. Five Pistols, 10 Pistol magazines, five Grenades, 4.9 mm 138 rounds were recovered.

During the course of the investigation, three suspects were brought for questioning by Police in connection with their involvement in cross-border narco-weapon smuggling.

During sustained questioning and upon their disclosure, five packets of Brown Sugar like substance weighing approx. 5.5 kgs have been recovered from the home courtyard of one of the accused.

Meanwhile, All the three accused have been arrested and further investigation in the matter has been initiated.
