JKPCC Condemns BJP’s ‘Diversion Tactics,’ Urges Stronger Anti-Terror Strategy and Statehood Restoration
Congress blames BJP of diverting attention from failure to tackle terrorism under UT, seeks restoration of statehood with safe guards for land, jobs and resources.
Jammu, Nov 8: Expressing serious concern over the continued rise in terror incidents, JKPCC has hit out at the Centre Govt. for failure to tackle militancy and check rise in terror activities under the UT, and blamed BJP for trying to divert attention of the people from the real Challenge of terrorism besides record unemployment & other burning issues besides restoration of full statehood and powers to the elected govt. to deal with priority issues of people.
Strongly condemning the Kistwar incident and expressing shock over the killing of two VDGs Nazir Ahmed and Kuldeep Kumar, last evening Senior congress leader and JKPCC Chief Spokesperson Mr. Ravinder Sharma questioned BJP for the failure of its govt. to contain terrorism which is taking toll of the lives of people on daily basis and blamed it of trying to divert attention of the people from real issues.
He said that instead of Paying tributes to the two martyrs of kistwar and condemning the incidents in the house to send a strong message against terrorism, today also the BJP indulged in diversionary tactics in the house, which shows that BJP has the least concern for the lives of the people.
Talking to media persons at PCC HQ Jammu, Sharma hit out at the Centre Govt. for failure to contain terrorism and continued rise in terror activities post Aug. 5, 2019 when entire control of law and order is with the Home Ministry in the UT system as state has not been restored yet and the elected govt. has not been given the powers to deal with burning issues facing the people of J&K.
Demanding immediate restoration of full statehood with guarantees to safeguard rights to land, jobs and natural resources of J&K, he said
unfortunately the bank corrupt BJP resorted to hooliganism in the house instead of debating and pointing out objections to the resolution, which simply seeks to hold a dialogue with newly elected representatives (MLAs) to evolve a special constitutional mechanism which protects national unity and respects the aspirations of people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Pointing out that the national media head of the BJP appreciated the resolution in the present form, the local BJP MLAs indulged in protest over the same inside and outside the house without understanding the real import of the resolution.
He questioned how it is anti-national, anti-India or anti-constitutional as BJP is trying to befool the people of the country with an eye on Maharashtra and Jharkhand elections. On the issue of special status under the constitution he said it is still available in Himachal, North East and several other states in one or other form or under Article 371. It was available to J&K under article 370 while over dozen other states avail it under the constitution of India under various section of Article 371.
BJP should answer who is opposed to restoration of full statehood and some constitutional guarantees to safe guard only rights to land, jobs and natural resources of J&K, as the present resolution emphasis to the center to hold dialogue on the issue with elected representatives.
Demanding more firm and effective strategy to deal with terrorism by involving the presented elected govt. the congress party sought immediate restoration of full statehood and power to the elected govt. to resolve the issue of the people.
