JAMMU,04-12-2024: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta strongly criticized National Conference (NC) leader Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday, accusing him of attempting to sow religious discord in Jammu and Kashmir with his provocative statements about alleged prejudice against Muslims.
In a statement issued to the media, Kavinder Gupta questioned Farooq Abdullah’s claim that the central government was discriminating against Muslims, pointing out that a Muslim politician is currently heading the Union Territory administration. He condemned the NC leader for stoking communal tensions for short-term political gain, warning that such rhetoric could ultimately harm the social fabric of the nation.
Kavinder further challenged the NC leader from Kashmir, asking why Farooq remained silent during the exodus of Hindus from the Valley, when they were killed and forced to flee their homes. He referred to this as one of the most tragic and unparalleled migrations within India.
Addressing Farooq’s assertions about Muslims being mistreated in the country, he asked the NC leader to name a single government scheme or public infrastructure that excludes Muslims or prevents them from using services available to others. He emphasized that the BJP-led government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently promoted inclusivity for all citizens, regardless of religion.
Kavinder asked Farooq Abdullah to cease his divisive tactics, highlighting that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are now more informed and capable of assessing issues without being swayed by misleading narratives.
