JAMMU,07-01-2024: Kavinder Gupta, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, has made an unconventional yet significant appeal to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, urging them to celebrate January 22 as a national festival akin to Diwali. This unique request aligns with the historic foundation laying ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22, marking a momentous occasion for the entire nation.
Kavinder expressed this call during a meeting with party workers in Jammu, emphasizing the need to commemorate the landmark event that holds deep cultural and historical significance. He urged party workers to initiate cleanliness drives at local temples from 14 to 22 January, creating a festive and spiritually charged atmosphere.
The senior BJP leader encouraged party workers and citizens alike to light Diyas in their homes on January 22. He perceived this act as a symbol of unity and peace, transcending religious and cultural boundaries. He emphasized the lighting of ‘Ram Jyoti’ in houses on this day, envisioning it as a collective expression of joy and harmony. He believed that such celebrations will foster a sense of unity among the people of Jammu and Kashmir, transcending political affiliations and fostering a spirit of togetherness.
Kavinder highlighted the significance of this celebration as a manifestation of shared values that resonate across the diverse tapestry of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22 is a poignant moment in the annals of our nation’s history. Acknowledging the cultural significance of this event, he emphasized the transformative power of shared heritage and values in fostering unity. As the sacred rites unfold, he underscored the importance of embracing the ideals of Lord Ram – justice, compassion, and righteousness – as guiding principles for our collective journey. The consecration ceremony, according to him, is a testament to the inclusive spirit of India, where diverse threads of faith are woven into a rich tapestry of cultural harmony.
