Kharge Released from Hospital Following Pacemaker Procedure

Kharge, 83, in stable condition, thanks well-wishers and prepares to resume public engagements.

Bengaluru, Oct 2: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has been discharged from MS Ramaiah Hospital following a successful pacemaker implantation procedure. In a statement, the party confirmed that Kharge is doing well and expressed gratitude to all who sent their good wishes.

“Honourable Congress President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge ji has been discharged from the hospital this evening. He is doing well and looks forward to resuming his activities shortly as advised. We thank everyone for their support and good wishes,” the statement read.

Kharge, 83, was admitted to the hospital on October 1 for the planned procedure. His son, Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge, confirmed the procedure’s success and said the Congress president’s condition is stable. During his hospital stay, Kharge received visits from several prominent leaders, including Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, and even Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who wished him a speedy recovery.

Kharge is expected to resume his duties soon, including addressing a public rally in Kohima, Nagaland, on October 7, under the theme “Safe Democracy, Safe Secularism, and Safe Nagaland.”
