Khatana Slams Congress Over National Herald Case; Calls It a New Model of Corruption

Jammu, 19-04-2025: Senior BJP leader and Member of Rajya Sabha, Er. Gulam Ali Khatana, launched a scathing attack on the Congress party and Congress-led state governments over their alleged involvement in the National Herald case. He accused the party of misusing public funds to support the National Herald newspaper through dubious advertisements and financial favors.

Khatana said, “Earlier it was 2G, Coal Scam, and the Commonwealth Games – now Congress has introduced a new model of corruption through the National Herald.” He expressed shock over the waiving of massive loans taken by shareholders after making token payments of just a few lakhs, while acquiring properties worth several thousand crores.

Khatana questioned the rationale behind extending loans to a private company and criticized the suspicious manner in which prime real estate assets were transferred under the pretense of running a newspaper. “It is astonishing that a newspaper, which barely prints even a weekly edition in limited numbers, is being used as a cover for such massive financial misappropriations,” he stated.

He further added that the Enforcement Directorate’s charge sheet has clearly outlined the alleged irregularities with detailed documentation, shedding light on the deep-rooted corruption within the Congress ecosystem.

Er. Khatana demanded that the Congress leadership answer to the nation and clarify its role in the National Herald affair. He urged the investigative agencies to take strict action and ensure accountability in this matter of national interest.
