Kunwarani Ritu Singh inaugurates Roshni Lab at Mission Vatsalaya for visually impaired boys

JAMMU,23-10-2024: In a significant move to bridge the digital divide and equip visually impaired students with essential skills, Kunwarani Ritu Singh, Trustee of the Maharaja Hari Singh Social & Educational Foundation and Founder Trustee of Delhi Public Schools Jammu, Katra, and Nagbani, in collaboration with Department of Social Welfare , Mission Vatsalaya Residential School for Visually Impaired Boys’ in presence of  Mamta Rajput (JKAS), District Social Welfare Officer, Jammu, inaugurated the Annie Smart Class and Computer Lab at the Residential School for Visually Impaired (Boys), Roop Nagar, Jammu. This initiative, under Project ROSHNI, focuses on empowering visually impaired students through digital education and skill development.

The Annie Smart Class and Computer Lab is a cornerstone of Project ROSHNI, an initiative that focuses on providing visually impaired students with cutting-edge educational tools. This collaborative effort between the Maharaja Hari Singh Social & Educational Foundation and the Department of Social Welfare reflects a shared goal of creating an inclusive learning environment that leverages technology to empower marginalized students.

Kunwarani Ritu Singh, a visionary educational leader and advocate for inclusive learning, emphasized the significance of bridging the digital divide for students with special needs. “Education must be inclusive and accessible to all, and the integration of smart technology will empower these students to access learning resources that enhance their abilities and broaden their opportunities,” remarked Ritu Singh during the event.  As a testament to her dedication to inclusion, Kunwarani Ritu Singh ensures that her schools regularly provide training in co-curricular activities—completely free of cost—to the students at the residential school, fostering a spirit of collaboration and skill development. This ongoing outreach is a powerful example of how inclusive education can bridge gaps and create opportunities for all.

The event was marked by the impressive talents of the visually impaired children, who delivered heartwarming performances, including soulful singing and a captivating Judo session that left the audience in awe. In the impressive Braille Library of the school, teams from DPS Jammu, Katra, and Nagbani interacted with the students and staff to foster meaningful connections and an exchange of ideas. Kunwarani Ritu Singh led these teams.
