L&T Secures ₹10,000 Crore–₹15,000 Crore Order to Build AI Factory
The engineering major will develop an AI computing facility equipped with 10,000 NVIDIA B300 GPUs, strengthening India's high-performance computing infrastructure.
NEW DELHI, Aug 14: Larsen & Toubro has secured a major order estimated at ₹10,000 crore to ₹15,000 crore to build an artificial intelligence factory equipped with 10,000 NVIDIA B300 GPUs, marking a significant expansion of the engineering giant into India’s rapidly developing AI infrastructure sector.
The project places L&T at the centre of India’s growing demand for high-performance computing infrastructure as businesses and institutions increasingly adopt generative AI, machine learning and other advanced technologies.
The proposed facility will use NVIDIA’s latest-generation B300 GPU platform, providing substantial computing capacity for AI workloads. The scale of the project makes it one of the significant investments in India’s domestic AI infrastructure landscape.
L&T’s entry into the AI factory business also reflects the changing nature of India’s technology ecosystem. Large infrastructure and engineering companies are increasingly moving beyond traditional construction and industrial projects to participate in emerging areas such as data centres, digital infrastructure and artificial intelligence.
