Major Success for J&K Police: Bust of Narco Module in Baramulla, Arresting Five, Including Woman

BARAMULLA, Jan 5: In a significant development, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have successfully dismantled a narco module in the Baramulla district, apprehending five individuals involved in drug peddling, including a female suspect. The operation, conducted by a team led by the Station House Officer of Baramulla, resulted in the arrest of Sharik Ahmad Sheikh, Sharif Ahmad Sheikh, Irfan Ahmad Sheikh, Muskaan Bano, all hailing from DewanBagh Baramulla, and Bakir Ahmad Rather, a resident of Chandsooma Kanispora.

The arrests were made during the interception of a vehicle at a checkpoint in Kralhar, where the accused individuals were found on board. A thorough search conducted by the police revealed the possession of 45 grams of contraband brown sugar and 345 grams of Charas-like substances. The arrested suspects, along with the confiscated illegal substances, were promptly shifted to Baramulla Police Station, where they remain in custody.

The official statement emphasizes the successful disruption of the narco module, highlighting the recovery of significant quantities of illicit substances.
