Massive Fire Destroys Residential House in Kulgam’s Cheyan Village
Blaze Engulfs Single Storey Home in Devsar, No Casualties Reported
Kulgam, Oct 8: A single storey residential house was completely gutted in a massive fire that broke out early Wednesday morning in Cheyan area of Devsar, south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
According to officials, the house belonged to Mushtaq Ahmad Shah, son of Mohd Jabar Shah. The fire is believed to have started in the early hours and quickly spread throughout the structure before locals and personnel from the Fire & Emergency Services (F&ES) department arrived at the scene to control the blaze.
“Firefighting efforts are underway to ensure the flames are fully doused,” an official said, adding that the cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
Fortunately, no injuries or loss of life have been reported in the incident. However, the house suffered extensive damage, leaving the affected family in distress.
Authorities have initiated an inquiry to ascertain the cause of the fire, while local residents have urged for immediate relief measures for the affected household.
