The core objective of the multi-state cooperative society is to build self-sustainable Agri supply chains with its model of FARM-FACTORY-FORK. She also briefed that UNATI which is one of the celebrated cooperatives in India will help newly formed FPOs and cooperatives in JK-UT in terms of market linkages, processing technical know-how and much-needed handholding for newly formed diversified cooperatives will come from this new formation at the national level with participation and inclusion of JK-UT based cooperatives. Speaking on the occasion Jyoti Saroop (chief promoter Unati) said that the major suffering in the agriculture sector is the unorganized value chain. Due to this unorganized value chain, the farmer being at the bottom of this value chain earns less. UMMCL has plans to integrate the whole value chain into one platform by reviving the traditional supply chain to boost the agri-economy. The farmer will be supported not only by buying the produce but value adding at the first step so they can be brought up in the value chain. He also added that cooperatives on whole provide the best working principles for the agricultural economy. UMMCL is promoted by the Unati cooperative marketing-cum-processing Society Ltd.  Talwara (Punjab) and the J&K Dairy Producers Processors and marketing cooperative union limited (JKDCUL) Jammu. On this occasion, other members of JKDCUL and Officers of the JK-UT cooperative department were also present.
