NTA Opens NEET-UG 2026 Re-Exam Fee Refund Window for Eligible Candidates

Candidates who appeared in the NEET-UG re-examination have been asked to submit their bank account details within the prescribed deadline to receive examination fee refunds.

New Delhi, July 01 : The National Testing Agency (NTA) has initiated the fee refund process for eligible candidates who appeared in the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination, asking students to submit their bank account details through the official portal before the notified deadline.

The refund exercise follows the completion of the NEET-UG re-exam conducted after the original entrance test was cancelled due to allegations of a paper leak.

According to the NTA, candidates eligible for the refund must carefully provide accurate banking information to facilitate direct transfer of the examination fee.

Officials advised applicants to verify their account number, IFSC code, account holder’s name, and other banking details before submission to avoid delays or failed transactions.

The refund process is being conducted entirely online, allowing candidates from across the country to complete the formalities without visiting any examination office.

Education authorities stated that timely processing of refunds reflects the government’s effort to minimise inconvenience caused to students following the rescheduling of one of India’s largest medical entrance examinations.

Students have welcomed the move, although many continue to seek broader reforms to ensure examination integrity and avoid similar disruptions in future entrance tests.

The refund process also highlights the increasing reliance on digital platforms for examination administration, communication, and financial transactions.

Experts believe that alongside stronger examination security, transparent grievance redressal and prompt financial settlements are essential for rebuilding public confidence in national entrance examinations.

The NTA has urged all eligible candidates to complete the refund formalities within the stipulated deadline, stating that delayed submissions could postpone processing.
