Mumbai, Oct 08 : Bhojpuri actor and singer Pawan Singh is once again in the spotlight amid serious allegations from his second wife, Jyoti Singh, who has accused him of harassment, infidelity, and mental torture. Jyoti claims that Pawan abandoned her, filed false complaints against her, and caused emotional distress over a prolonged period.
While Jyoti Singh’s allegations raise serious questions about Pawan Singh’s personal conduct, the actor’s long-time friend, Subhash Singh, has come forward in his defence. In a widely circulated video, Subhash described the controversy as a “political conspiracy” and insisted that Jyoti’s public statements were timed to damage Pawan’s reputation during political events. He claimed that rivals in the Bhojpuri film industry and politics were using Jyoti as a tool to attack Pawan, suggesting the actor’s short-lived political stint earlier this year had made him a target.
Subhash portrayed Pawan as a “self-made man” who rose from humble beginnings through talent and struggle. He expressed concern over the actor’s image being tarnished but did not acknowledge Jyoti Singh’s claims or the emotional trauma she has endured. Subhash also criticised social media coverage, accusing influencers and YouTubers of sensationalising a private family matter.
This is not the first controversy surrounding Pawan Singh. His Bhojpuri songs and public actions have previously drawn criticism for misogyny and promoting toxic behaviour. Despite past scandals, Pawan retains a strong fan following, particularly among male audiences, and continues to draw millions of views on his music videos.
Jyoti Singh, meanwhile, continues to speak publicly about her experiences, highlighting the emotional neglect and abuse she faced during her marriage. Her legal proceedings against Pawan Singh, including maintenance and divorce cases in Ballia court, remain ongoing, underscoring the gravity of the allegations.
