PM Modi Joins ‘Bhajan Clubbing’ Trend as Youth Groove to Devotional Beats
PM Modi attends a youth focused devotional gathering in New Delhi, joining participants as they sing and clap to traditional bhajans.
NEW DELHI, Sep 25: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday joined youngsters at a devotional music gathering that reflected the growing trend of ‘Bhajan clubbing’, where traditional spiritual songs are performed in an energetic, concert style setting.
Modi attended the programme organised at a park opposite the BJP headquarters in New Delhi to mark the 110th birth anniversary of Sangh Parivar ideologue Deendayal Upadhyay.
Seated in the front row, the Prime Minister was seen clapping along with the performers and playing a small tambourine like musical instrument during a bhajan dedicated to Lord Ram.
The gathering was largely attended by young people, including members of Gen Z, who joined the singers by clapping, chanting and singing along with the devotional music.
‘Bhajan clubbing’ combines traditional devotional compositions with contemporary musical arrangements and a high-energy atmosphere. Unlike conventional religious gatherings, these events are often organised in concert-like settings where participants engage with the music through singing, clapping and dancing.
The trend has been gaining attention in several Indian cities and among Indian communities overseas, offering younger audiences a contemporary way to engage with traditional devotional music.
Often described as a club like experience without alcohol, these gatherings blend spiritual themes with modern acoustic or electronic rhythms to create an energetic communal atmosphere.
