PM Modi Praises Amit Shah’s Contribution to Strengthening India’s Internal Security on His Birthday
The Prime Minister praised the Union Home Minister’s administrative approach and highlighted the government’s efforts to tackle Maoist violence and combat drug abuse.
NEW DELHI, October 22: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday extended birthday greetings to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, crediting his administrative approach with strengthening India’s internal security framework and highlighting efforts to curb Left wing extremism and drug trafficking.
In a post on social media platform X, Modi conveyed his wishes to Shah and acknowledged his contribution to the country’s security arrangements.
“Warm birthday greetings to Home Minister Shri Amit Shah Ji. His administrative understanding has ensured India’s internal security systems become more effective,” the Prime Minister wrote.
Modi also highlighted the government’s efforts to address Maoist violence and drug abuse, describing these initiatives as significant priorities for national security and social development.
“Particularly noteworthy are the successes in eliminating the menace of Maoism and in furthering our dream of a society free from drugs,” he said.
The Prime Minister wished Shah a long and healthy life, expressing hope that he would continue working for the welfare of the people.
“I pray that he is blessed with a long and healthy life in service of the people,” Modi added.
As Union Home Minister, Shah has been involved in shaping the Centre’s internal security policies, including measures targeting Left-wing extremism, strengthening coordination among security agencies and tackling organised drug trafficking.
The Union government has identified the elimination of Maoist violence and the creation of a drug-free society as key policy objectives. Its approach includes security operations, intelligence sharing and cooperation between central and state authorities.
Efforts to combat narcotics-related offences have also focused on disrupting trafficking networks and strengthening enforcement mechanisms.
Modi’s birthday message underscored the government’s stated priorities of improving internal security, addressing extremist violence and curbing the spread of illegal drugs across the country.
