PM Modi Reaches Out to Nabin Patnaik, Meets Nitish Kumar After PK’s Election Victory

New Delhi, Aug 05 : The NDA parliamentary party meeting in New Delhi on Tuesday focused on the Centre’s economic achievements, employment generation and India’s growing stature in sports under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Senior government representatives briefed MPs on the progress made during the past decade, asserting that the country has witnessed stronger job creation and faster economic expansion compared with the previous UPA administration. The meeting also highlighted India’s transformation in the sporting arena, citing improved infrastructure, athlete support and international performances as examples of sustained policy initiatives.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah attended the weekly gathering of MPs from the ruling alliance. Although the Prime Minister did not address the meeting, discussions centred on the government’s development agenda and upcoming parliamentary priorities.

A notable moment during the closed-door session was a brief interaction between PM Modi and BJP president Nitin Nabin. The exchange attracted attention among alliance lawmakers, with several viewing it as a reassuring gesture following the BJP’s unexpected defeat in Bankipur, a constituency previously represented by Nabin before he entered the Rajya Sabha.

Later in the day, the Prime Minister held a separate meeting with former Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at his office. Janata Dal (United) leaders Lalan Singh and Sanjay Jha also attended the discussion, signalling continued coordination between the BJP and its key ally ahead of future political engagements.

The developments underscored the NDA leadership’s twin focus on showcasing governance achievements while maintaining close coordination with alliance partners, particularly in politically significant states such as Bihar.
