R-Day 2026 Parade Showcases Operation Sindoor Success at Kartavya Path
Integrated Operational Centre tableau illustrates joint-force coordination, precision strikes and indigenous combat systems
NEW DELHI, Jan 26: An Integrated Operational Centre (IOC) tableau encased in glass drew attention at the 77th Republic Day parade on Kartavya Path, presenting a detailed depiction of Operation Sindoor and its execution by India’s armed forces.
The display showcased how the operation culminated in the elimination of more than 100 terrorists and enemy combatants, alongside the destruction of critical infrastructure, achieving operational objectives within 88 hours.
Launched in response to the April 2025 terrorist attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives, the mission focused on dismantling terror infrastructure across the border. Precision strikes were carried out on multiple hostile bases, resulting in significant losses to militant networks.
According to the depiction at the IOC, strategic direction from national and military leadership, seamless coordination among the three services and sustained public support were central to the mission’s success.
The operation underscored a convergence of heritage, diversity and development, with advanced missile and air defence systems playing a decisive role. While BrahMos missiles delivered offensive firepower, Akash and S-400 systems provided layered air defence under the integrated “Sudarshan Chakra” concept.
Combat support elements featured Shaktibaan and Divyastra, mounted on high-mobility 6×6 platforms, reflecting the Army’s emphasis on indigenisation and next-generation warfare capabilities.
These platforms demonstrated India’s evolving unmanned warfare ecosystem, integrating swarm drones, tethered drone systems and the indigenous hybrid UAV ZOLT for surveillance and artillery fire control.
Target acquisition and strike capabilities were further enhanced through loitering munitions such as HAROP, Mini Harpy, Peacekeeper, ATS (Extended and Medium Range) and Sky Striker, enabling precision engagement across varied battlefield scenarios.
The Ministry of Defence stated that these systems strengthen the Army’s transition towards technology-driven operations, combining surveillance, targeting and strike functions into a unified combat framework.
The Shaktibaan platform was led by Lieutenant Raman Mishra of the 161 Medium Regiment, while Divyastra was commanded by Subedar Kiran Medar from the same unit.
