Rahul Sahai, Chairman Indian Chamber of Commerce Jammu J&K, Congratulates Hon’ble CM Omar Abdullah and Hon’ble LG Manoj Sinha on Revival of Darbar Move

Jammu, October 2025: Rahul Sahai, Chairman, Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Jammu & Kashmir, has extended his heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to Hon’ble Chief Minister of J&K, Sh. Omar Abdullah, for announcing the revival of the historic Darbar Move tradition in Jammu & Kashmir. He also expressed deep appreciation and thanks to Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, Sh. Manoj Sinha, for approving this significant decision.

Sahai stated that the revival of the Darbar Move will immensely benefit the economies of both regions — Jammu and Kashmir — by ensuring balanced administrative presence and equitable economic activity throughout the year. “This decision will bring renewed vibrancy to Jammu’s trade and business sector, as our markets and bazaars will once again be filled with customers from the Kashmir region during the winter months,” he said.

Highlighting the socio-economic importance of this move, Mr. Sahai added that it will further strengthen the bond of brotherhood and harmony between the two regions and communities, fostering greater unity and mutual understanding. He termed the revival as a visionary step that respects the historic legacy of J&K while promoting inclusive growth and regional balance.

Mr. Sahai reiterated ICC Jammu’s full support to all initiatives that aim to promote economic revival, inter-regional cooperation, and social harmony across the Union Territory.
