Rejuvenate Congress instead of giving ‘Sermons’ on J&K’s Statehood: Kavinder advises Karra
Says rout faced by ‘Grand’ old party in Delhi calls for introspection
JAMMU, Feb 10: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta on Monday advised J&K Pradesh Congress Committee President Tariq Hameed Karra to focus on reviving his party, which has faced a crushing defeat in the Delhi elections, rather than attempting to disrupt peace and progress in Jammu and Kashmir by raising non-issues like statehood restoration.
Taking a dig at Karra’s recent statements, Kavinder Gupta asserted that Congress has been rejected by the people across the country due to its policy paralysis and opportunistic politics. “Instead of misleading the public by raking up issues that have already been settled, the Congress leadership should engage in serious introspection on why their party has become irrelevant in national politics,” he said.
The senior BJP leader emphasized that the abrogation of Article 370 has ushered in a new era of development and stability in Jammu and Kashmir, and any attempt by Congress to push its divisive agenda will be futile. He highlighted the transformative initiatives undertaken by the BJP-led Central Government, which have propelled J&K on the path of economic growth, infrastructural development, and employment generation.
Kavinder Gupta further questioned Congress’ credibility in speaking about the welfare of J&K when its own leadership failed the people of the region for decades. “Congress ruled the country for more than 70 years, yet failed to bring progress and prosperity to J&K. It is the Modi-led government that has ensured equitable development and security for all,” he added.
He asked Congress leaders like Karra to abandon their outdated narratives and instead contribute constructively to nation-building. “The people of J&K have moved ahead with hope and aspirations. No amount of rhetoric can change the ground reality that J&K is on the path of unprecedented growth under BJP’s governance,” he asserted.
Reiterating BJP’s commitment to the welfare of the region, Kavinder Gupta assured that the Modi government is dedicated to strengthening democracy at the grassroots level, fostering industrialization, and ensuring the upliftment of all sections of society. He said Congress’ attempts to mislead the public would not succeed, as the people of J&K stand firmly with the BJP’s vision of a prosperous and peaceful region.
