Renowned artists participating in MSCBM Trust’s curetted 7-Day art workshop at Cheshmashahi in Kashmir

JAMMU, SEP 7: A National Art Exhibition curetted by Master Sansar Chand Baru Memorial Trust (MSCBMT) and organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture of the Union Govt entered Day-2 today with renowned artists of national fame participating in it.

The week long workshop for all-round awareness of Art & Culture & Art Education in J&K and commenced on 6th September and shall conclude on 12th September is being held at JKTDC Guest House amid mesmerizing location of Cheshmashahi in the lap of Paradise on Earth, Kashmir.

The theme for the ongoing workshop is ‘Vanishing Art and Culture of J&K’ with special focus on tribal art.

Today’s proceedings were held to make children aware about ‘Portrait Making’ and the essential features to be taken care of while painting portraits.

Anuradha Rishi, Chairperson of Master Sansar Chand Baru Memorial Trust informed that ten renowned artists including five from Kashmir and five from various states will be displaying their artistic skills during the workshop. These artists are Anas Sultan, Kishore Kumar, Gopal Krushna Samantray, Vijay Kumar, Digbijayee Khatua, Javaid Iqbal, Mohd Yusuf Baccha, Masood Hussain, Prof Zahoor Zargar and M.A. Mehboob.

She said that during the workshop various school children will be made aware and taught the skills of art with the aim to explore the hidden talent among the school going children at early stage. She asserted that this will not only promote art but also tourism.

It is pertinent to mention here that Master Sansar Chand Baru Memorial Charitable Trust is working for the promotion of Art & Culture with main focus on the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.

Meanwhile, a cross section of the society in Kashmir has commended the efforts of the trust in promoting the art and heritage of J&K.
