Russia-Ukraine Conflict Intensifies As Fresh Missile Strikes Hit Key Cities

Moscow and Kyiv exchange heavy attacks while diplomatic efforts remain stalled

Russia, May 21 : The Russia-Ukraine conflict witnessed another escalation on May 20 and 21 as both countries launched fresh missile and drone strikes targeting military infrastructure and energy facilities.

Officials in Ukraine reported overnight Russian attacks on several regions including Kyiv, Kharkiv and Dnipro. Ukrainian authorities claimed residential buildings and power facilities were damaged, while emergency teams rushed to rescue civilians trapped under debris.

Meanwhile, Russia accused Ukraine of targeting border regions with long-range drones, forcing temporary airport shutdowns and heightened security alerts in Moscow and nearby provinces.

The conflict continues despite repeated international calls for peace negotiations. Western allies have pledged additional military support to Ukraine, while Russia maintains that its military operations are aimed at protecting national security interests.

Global concerns are rising over the prolonged war’s impact on food supplies, fuel prices and geopolitical stability. International observers warn that the continuing hostilities could trigger deeper economic consequences for Europe and global trade networks.

Diplomatic channels remain active, but no breakthrough has been achieved so far. Both sides continue to accuse each other of blocking peace efforts.
