Sangeet Natak Akademi to organise Amrit Yuva Kalotsav in Jammu from 6th January

Jammu 4th of January, 2023: Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi- the national academy of music, dance and drama in collaboration with J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages & GLDM Govt. Degree College, Hiranagar is going to organize the Amrit Yuva Kalotsav- a festival of Music, Dance, Drama, Folk & Tribal Arts and Puppet celebrating the 75 years of India’s independence under the banner of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav from 6th to 8th of January, 2023 at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu.

The festival will open on 6th of January, 2023 at 5pm with the performances of Bipul Kumar Ray and Ritesh Prasanna from Delhi who will give Jammu an essence of melodies of Santoor and Flute followed by Jagarna Dance by Society for Environmental Education and Modern Art, Jammu. The final presentation of the day will be Natrang Jammu’s theatre play ‘Kasak’ directed by Rahul Singh.

On the second day at 3pm of Amrit Yuva Kalotsav Buddhist Chanting by Nawang Dechen, Jigmet Loldan, Stanzin Norgyal, Celek Namgyal and Stanzin Thinies of UT of Ladakh will be presented along with Sufiana Kalam of Jammu and Kashmir by Bilal Ahmed Ganie & Group of Srinagar and Rouf Dance by Sweet Screens Productions, Srinagar. The day will culminate with a Hindi play ‘Neer Nirupan’ directed by Saud Al Rashid Para under the banner of   Grey Greed Productions, Delhi.

On the concluding day at 3 pm onwards, Rahul Mishra and Rohit Mishra of Varanasi will present their mesmerising voice. This will be followed by Geetru Folk Music and Dance by Sars Bharti and Group, Kathak Dance by Natyanjali Society for the promotion of Classical Dance, Jammu. The festival will conclude with the presentation of GLDM Degree College, Hiranagar who will present Choral Music and Ladakhi play ‘Rangkhang’ by Ranthang Theatre group and directed by Kacho Ahmed Khan.

The festival will also have a workshop on Art Critique on 7th and 8th of January, 2023 daily at 11am to 1pm at K.L. Sehgal Hall, Abhinav Theatre Complex, Jammu.

A special team from Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi has come to Jammu apart from the officials of Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages & GLDM Degree College Hiranagar for smooth organization of the festival.
