Historic first Sarazi Samajik Sammelan unites community in Jammu
Jammu, 09-02-2025: The first-ever Sarazi Samajik Sammelan, organized by the Saraz Civil Society, marked a historic moment in celebrating the vibrant cultural and social heritage of the Saraz community. Held at Brig Rajinder Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu, the event brought together people from across the region, reaffirming their deep-rooted connection to their traditions, language, and collective identity.
The Sammelan served as a cultural confluence for the Saraz community, primarily hailing from Ramban, Doda, and Kishtwar districts, and provided a significant platform to preserve and promote the rich art, music, and linguistic heritage of the region. The program featured mesmerizing performances by talented artists, including traditional folk songs, dance sequences, and poetic recitations, capturing the essence of Sarazi culture.
The gathering saw enthusiastic participation from members of the Saraz community residing in Jammu, including students pursuing higher education and families who had migrated to the city.
