New Delhi, June 26 : The government has introduced a renewed push to reform scholarship systems in higher education, aiming to make financial assistance more accessible, transparent, and efficient for students from economically weaker backgrounds.

The initiative seeks to simplify application procedures and reduce delays that have historically affected the timely disbursal of funds. Officials said that the updated framework is designed to ensure that eligible students receive support without bureaucratic hurdles.

A major component of the reform involves the integration of scholarship schemes into a unified digital portal. This platform will allow students to apply for multiple central and state-level scholarships through a single interface, significantly reducing procedural complexity.

Authorities are also focusing on improving verification systems to eliminate duplication and fraud. By using digital identification tools and automated eligibility checks, the system aims to ensure that benefits reach genuine applicants without delay.
