Small entrepreneurs need to join the government: Narendra Singh Tomar

Ministry of Food Processing signed 5 MoUs

New Delhi, 18  December: Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Food Processing Industries, Narendra Singh Tomar has said that small entrepreneurs cannot move forward without the support of the government,  so it is important that they get the support of the government. He said that the Ministry of Food Processing Industries has tried to coordinate with all departments to benefit the common poor.

The Ministry of Food Processing Industries on Friday announced the Ministry of Tribal Affairs,  Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation Limited (TRIFED),  Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR),  National Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation (NSFDC),  National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation Limited (NAFED) and Signed five Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC). The Ministry of Food Processing Industries also signed a joint letter with the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. In addition, the  Ministry of Food Processing Industries also signed an agreement with Union Bank of India as the nodal bank for the Prime Minister’s Micro Food Processing Enterprise Formalization (PMFME) scheme.

In another meeting chaired by Food Processing Industries Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, 231 One District-One Products (ODOP) of  15 States and Union Territories were also approved. Along with Tomar, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Thawarchand Gehlot, Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda were present on the occasion of the signing of the MoU.

Tomar said that providing jobs in the areas of priority for the government through the MOU will help shape the lives of beneficiaries through life changes to Government plans. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has many priorities,  but the most important is – Sabka Saath,  Sabka Vikas. Small entrepreneurs cannot move forward without government support,  so it is important that they get the support of the government.

The Union Minister said that in order to benefit the common poor, the Food Processing Ministry has tried to coordinate with all the departments. 10  thousand crore rupees to be spent in PMFME scheme. He expressed confidence that all the institutions will work better through MoU,  people will get training and they will be able to come forward for production.

Union Minister Gehlot said that the availability of Rs 800  crore in this scheme is for the  Scheduled Castes,  which will benefit them a lot and they will move towards becoming self-reliant and self-reliant. At the same time, Union Minister Munda said that these MoUs are an important opportunity to strengthen the whole country in the vision of self-reliant India. Linking through these will benefit people in various fields.

A joint letter from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs will facilitate the identification of tribal enterprises and groups in the food processing sector, including small forest produce. ( H.C. ) .
