SNA’s Amrit Yuva Kalotsav concludes, over 100 artists showcased their talent

Jammu 8th of January, 2023: On the concluding day of Amrit Yuva Kalotsav organised by Sangeet Natak AKademi, New Delhi in collaboration with Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art Culture and Languages (JKAACL) & Girdhari Lal Dogra Memorial, Govt. Degree College, Hiranagar, mesmerising performances by the artists of Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kargil enthralled the august audiences here today at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu. Amrit Yuva Kalotsav featured over  hundred artists who showcased the diversity in our culture through different art forms.

Amrit Yuva Kalotsav is a unique endeavour of the Akademi to revive the interest of the youth in the performing arts of India as India enters its Amrit Kaal, where the future of the country will be built on the foundation of its glorious past. To mark the completion of 75 years of India’s independence, there will be presentations for a total of 75 days at various venues around the country. On the concluding day the eventful day was started with the Laddakhi play ‘Rongkhang’ directed by Kacho Ahmed Khan of Kargil. The play “Rongkhang ” revolves around the sins committed by professionals of different fields. It takes place near the imaginative gate of hell, where the sinners are waiting for their turn to be judged by the Creator and they talk about each other’s sins which they have committed in their professional life. There is a contractor, an engineer, a doctor, and many more, thinking about the moments they have wasted in those heinous lanes of corruption and crime on Earth which they could have easily avoided. But now they realize that nothing can be undone and you have to live with whatever you’ve done.

The day further witnessed mesmerising performances of Sars Bharti and Group who presented Geetru Folk Music and Dance in front of august gathering followed by the Hindustani vocal by Rahul Mishra and Rohit Mishra of Varanasi. The eventful day culminated with the power packed performances of Kathak by Nityanjali Society for Promotion of Classical Dance and Choral Music by the students of Girdhari Lal Dogra Memorial, Govt. Degree College, Hiranagar.

Earlier in the morning, a two day workshop on Art Critique was also concluded in which senior experts, art critics, and scholars viz. Balwant Thakur, Vijay Shanker Mishra, Prayag Shukla, Chetan Joshi and Tapati Chowdhurie was also held in which they shared their knowledge acquired through their vast experience.
