Taking a break from her busy schedule, she embraced the tranquil beauty of the lake as part of her personal visit. During this excursion, Sonia Gandhi relished the experience of sitting back and absorbing the surroundings on the boat.
Sonia’s visit coincided with the presence of her son and fellow party leader, Rahul Gandhi, in Srinagar. Rahul had concluded a week-long tour of Ladakh, which included addressing a public rally in Kargil on the preceding day. His arrival in Srinagar on Friday aligned with Sonia’s trip, enhancing the familial aspect of their brief sojourn.
The prospect of Priyanka Gandhi joining them has also been speculated upon, although it is important to note that this visit is being characterized as a wholly personal and family-oriented affair by Congress leaders.
Sonia Gandhi, who holds the position of Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson, made her way to Srinagar on August 26. Amidst the backdrop of the picturesque Nigeen Lake, she experienced the serenity of a boat ride. As Sonia joined Rahul Gandhi on his personal retreat to Srinagar following his eventful Ladakh tour, it has been clarified that both Congress leaders are refraining from participating in any political meetings during their stay. This deliberate departure from political engagements underlines the personal nature of their visit to the region.
During his exploratory journey through Ladakh, Rahul Gandhi undertook a motorcycle expedition to several iconic destinations, encompassing Pangong Lake, Nubra Valley, Khardungla Top, Lamayuru, and Zanskar. His travels culminated with a public address in Kargil on Friday before he proceeded to Srinagar.
