President pays tribute on Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary, highlights his role in instilling national pride and guiding India’s youth.
NEW DELHI, Jan 12: President Droupadi Murmu on Monday paid glowing tributes to Swami Vivekananda on his birth anniversary, saying the revered spiritual leader inspired generations of youth to contribute meaningfully to nation-building and instilled a deep sense of national pride among Indians.
Swami Vivekananda, born on January 12, 1863, as Narendranath Dutta in erstwhile Calcutta, is remembered as one of India’s greatest thinkers and reformers. His birth anniversary is observed every year as National Youth Day.
In a post on X, President Murmu described Vivekananda as a “timeless visionary and spiritual icon,” noting that he believed inner strength and service to humanity were the foundations of a meaningful life.
“He carried India’s eternal wisdom to the world,” the President said, adding that Vivekananda’s teachings continue to guide and inspire humanity across generations.
Highlighting his lasting legacy, Murmu said Vivekananda’s thoughts and ideals played a crucial role in awakening national consciousness and motivating young people to dedicate themselves to the progress and development of the nation.
