Tara Chand demands early restoration of statehood with constitutional rights of job and land, ownership rights to local people who are cultivating  their land since long 

Tara Chand slams BJP for delaying J&K statehood, demands job regularization, pension hike, and urgent relief for struggling citizens.

Jammu, Feb 28:  In a statement, Working President of JKPCC and Former Dy. Chief Minister Shri Tara Chand said that all political parties have promised to the people during elections, but after coming to power they have not taken any step towards fulfilling their promises, and the general public is facing great hardships.

He said that BJP  had promised restoration of statehood with constitutional rights of jobs and land to the people of Jammu and Kashmir but now delay tactics are being adopted in granting statehood which is a big betrayal of BJP with the people of J&K for which the BJP leadership in J&K and at the National level should answer. He demanded ownership rights to local people who are cultivating   their land since long.

 Tara Chand also raised burning issues of the general public and demanded salvation of people’s problems by the government, especially unemployed youth. He demanded regularization of all daily wagers, need-based workers, besides those working in temporary, ad-hoc, consolidated & contractual basis for several years on meager wages/salaries, besides taking care of the genuine demands of employees, pensioners, farmers, common people, traders, transporters, and all other sections of society, who are facing multiple taxes in the prevailing unprecedented price hike and record unemployment.

He said that nearly one Lakh posts in various departments of the government are lying vacant, and the unemployment rate in Jammu and Kashmir is rising day by day. The Govt. should fill up these vacancies through a time-bound recruitment drive with a preference for locals. He said that

Several youths got over aged due to mismanagement in the recruitment drive by the negligence of  Govt.  for the last 10 years, they should be given a one-time age relaxation in the recruitment drive.

Former Dy Chief Minister demanded enhancement of old age pension, widow pension, and handicapped pension, as the prices of all commodities of life have been increased, and the people who depend on pensions are facing a lot of hardships in their day-to-day lives.

He further demanded that 11 kg ration per head should be provided to the people as they used to get 10 years ago. There should be no water tax in both urban and rural areas; besides 200 Units free electricity should be provided to those who consume 200 units or less electricity per month.  Pump sets installed by the farmers to cultivate their land should be provided electricity at half rate.
