TCS Plans ₹70,000 Crore AI Data Centre Campus in Hyderabad

HyperVault project will develop a phased 1GW facility to support high-density AI computing and hyperscale workloads

HYDERABAD, Sept 6: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), through its subsidiary HyperVault, is planning an investment of up to ₹70,000 crore to develop a large scale artificial intelligence data centre campus in Hyderabad, marking one of India’s biggest planned investments in AI infrastructure.

The proposed facility will have a capacity of up to 1 gigawatt and will be developed in phases, with the scale and pace of construction expected to depend on customer demand and evolving technology requirements. HyperVault has secured 264 acres in Hyderabad for the project.

The campus is being designed to serve AI companies and hyperscale cloud operators that require high-density computing infrastructure for AI training, inference and other demanding workloads.

The planned facility is expected to incorporate infrastructure capable of supporting dense GPU deployments, alongside advanced cooling and large-scale power systems needed to operate increasingly powerful AI processors.

TCS CEO K Krithivasan said Hyderabad’s talent pool, scale and technology ecosystem made the city suitable for serving global customers.

The project reflects the growing demand for AI computing infrastructure as technology companies expand their use of large-scale models and other compute intensive applications.

At full capacity, the HyperVault campus is expected to rank among India’s largest AI infrastructure facilities. The development also strengthens Hyderabad’s position as a major destination for data centres and advanced computing projects.

The investment comes as Indian technology companies and global cloud operators increase spending on computing capacity to meet rising demand for artificial intelligence services.

TCS has been expanding its presence beyond traditional IT services, with the HyperVault initiative aimed at building physical infrastructure capable of supporting the next generation of AI applications.
