Tripura Joins National AI Outreach Initiative Ahead of India-AI Impact Summit

State hosts regional AI awareness workshop in Agartala as part of national pre-summit initiatives

Agartala, Jan 30: Signalling its participation in India’s expanding artificial intelligence agenda, the Government of Tripura on Friday hosted a regional level AI awareness workshop in Agartala as part of the run up to the India-AI Impact Summit 2026.

Organised by the Directorate of Information Technology at Pragya Bhavan, the programme was designed to introduce key stakeholders to practical applications of artificial intelligence in governance and public service delivery. The workshop forms part of a nationwide outreach effort aimed at building institutional readiness ahead of the summit.

The initiative aligns with the Centre’s broader digital governance roadmap, which increasingly integrates artificial intelligence into policy formulation and administrative reforms. AI-driven solutions are being explored across sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, education, and smart governance to enhance efficiency and service outcomes.

India’s AI ecosystem is anchored by major national programmes, including the IndiaAI Mission under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and NITI Aayog’s National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence. Together, these frameworks seek to leverage AI as a driver of inclusive and sustainable development.

The India-AI Impact Summit 2026 is scheduled for February 19–20 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The event is being positioned as the first large scale global AI forum hosted in the Global South, underscoring India’s growing role in shaping international conversations on artificial intelligence.
