UIDAI Launches AI-powered Chatbot for Aadhaar-Related Queries

17-03-2023 : Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) launched “Aadhaar Mitra”, a chatbot to assist individuals with their queries regarding the Aadhaar card. The AI/ML-powered chatbot is capable of providing information on a range of topics, including Aadhaar enrolment numbers, PVC card order status, and complaint status, in both Hindi and English languages.

Each response provided by the Aadhaar Chatbot is followed by a thumbs up or thumbs down icon, and after the session, the user can rate the service on a scale of one to five stars. Additionally, the chatbot is equipped to answer questions about locating an Aadhaar center, checking enrolment or update status, filing a complaint, and booking an appointment, among other topics.

The chatbot also allows users to update their Aadhaar card without having to visit an Aadhaar enrolment center and can help with obtaining a duplicate Aadhaar card in case the original is lost.
