Vehicle entry and parking restrictions imposed ahead of J&K Assembly session

No private vehicles allowed inside Civil Secretariat during Assembly session

Jammu, January 28: In view of the forthcoming 5th session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, the Government has issued an advisory regulating the entry and parking of vehicles in and around the Civil Secretariat, Jammu, to ensure smooth movement and enhanced security.

According to a circular issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), no private vehicles of employees, including police personnel deployed on security duty, will be permitted inside the Civil Secretariat premises during the Assembly session.

The advisory further states that private vehicles of Civil Secretariat employees will be parked at the designated parking space available at the under-construction Legislative Assembly Complex on a first-come, first-served basis. However, escort vehicles and media vehicles will not be allowed to park in these designated areas.

All officers and officials have been directed to extend full cooperation to the Senior Superintendent of Police (Security), Civil Secretariat, in regulating vehicle movement and parking arrangements.

Administrative Secretaries have also been asked to ensure strict compliance with the instructions by all employees under their respective administrative control.

The measures have been put in place to facilitate better traffic management, enhance security and avoid congestion in and around the Civil Secretariat during the Assembly session.
