Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia Urge All Complainants to Undergo Narco Test in Harassment Case

22-05-2023 : Olympic bronze medalist Bajrang Punia has agreed to take Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh up on his offer to submit to a narco-analysis test in order to ascertain the truthfulness of the sexual harassment claims made against the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president. Singh stated in a Facebook post that he would be open to taking a polygraph or narco-analysis test to prove his innocence.
However, he laid a condition that both Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia should also agree to undergo the tests. Bajrang responded by stating that they are ready to face the narco test, but they also want Singh to undergo the test under the supervision of the Supreme Court and with live streaming on national television. Bajrang emphasized that the questions being asked during the test should be made transparent. He further suggested that all the girls who have filed complaints should also undergo the narco-analysis test. Vinesh expressed the need for the entire country to be aware of the injustices they have faced. The wrestlers expressed their dissatisfaction with certain sections of the media glorifying Singh and urged them to treat him as a sexual harassment accused.
The protesting wrestlers made plans for a second candlelight march from Jantar Mantar to India Gate to commemorate their one-month protest anniversary. In order to prevent any attempts to disturb the peace, they emphasized the peaceful nature of their protest.
