Winter Vacation Extension: Directorate of School Education in Jammu Summer Zone Prioritizes Student Safety Amidst Harsh Weather Conditions
Jammu, 21-01-2024 : Due to the prevailing extreme cold weather conditions in the Jammu Summer Zone, the Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) has taken a decision to extend the winter vacations for all schools up to the 12th standard. According to the recent order issued by DSEJ, the winter break will now be observed from January 22 to January 27, 2024.
The directive acknowledges the harsh weather conditions and aims to ensure the safety and well-being of students during this period. This decision is in continuation of previous orders and is deemed necessary to shield students from the challenges posed by the severe cold.
While the extended winter vacations provide a respite for students and school staff, the order emphasizes that students engaged in practicing for Republic Day celebrations will continue to attend rehearsals. This exception highlights the importance of preparing for national events even during the vacation period.
The order places a responsibility on Headmasters and Headmistresses (HOIs) to ensure that all necessary arrangements for the Republic Day function are in place. This includes overseeing the active and enthusiastic participation of students despite the ongoing winter break. The directive underscores the commitment to maintaining the celebratory spirit and patriotic fervor associated with Republic Day.
