10th Arrest in Jammu Gangster Murder Case: Key Conspirator Nabbed at Delhi Airport

Jammu, Mar 12: In a significant breakthrough in the high-profile murder of gangster Sumit Jandyal, Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested another key accused, bringing the total number of arrests in the case to ten. The latest suspect, identified as Yudhvir Singh, a resident of Mandi Sangwali in Samba district, was taken into custody at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in Delhi immediately after his arrival from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

According to a police spokesperson, Singh played a crucial financial role in orchestrating the murder, allegedly transferring funds across multiple accounts to facilitate the crime. Investigations have revealed that the money was used to purchase an Alto car just a week before the killing— a vehicle that later became instrumental in executing the plot.

The murder took place on January 21, when Sumit Jandyal, the head of the Gataru gang, was shot dead in broad daylight at Jewel Chowk, a busy commercial hub in the heart of Jammu. The shocking incident sent tremors across the region, exposing the deep-rooted gang rivalry in the area.

Authorities have termed Singh’s arrest as a “major breakthrough” in unravelling the meticulously planned crime. With each arrest, police are piecing together crucial details of the conspiracy, which involved a well-coordinated financial trail and logistical planning to execute the murder.

As the investigation progresses, security agencies continue to track down other possible associates involved in the crime, vowing to dismantle criminal networks operating in the region.
