India’s Future Lies in Peace, Not War: PM Modi to Global Diaspora at Pravasi Divas

BHUBANESWAR, Jan 9: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his address at the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention in Bhubaneswar on Thursday, emphasized the growing influence of India on the global stage. He stated that the future of the world lies not in conflict but in peace, drawing inspiration from the teachings of Buddha. This statement reflects India’s deep-rooted commitment to peace and dialogue, which has become a guiding principle in its international relations.

The Prime Minister noted that India’s heritage, which includes its spiritual traditions and democratic values, allows the nation to speak confidently on the global platform. He underscored that India’s voice is being increasingly heard in global affairs, not just in terms of its own perspectives but also in representing the aspirations of the Global South. India, he explained, is uniquely positioned to advocate for peace and global cooperation, in contrast to the escalating conflicts witnessed across the world.

Modi also highlighted the importance of India’s democratic ethos, stating that the country is not just the birthplace of democracy, but democracy is woven into the fabric of everyday life. The Prime Minister reinforced India’s role as a responsible global player, with the ability to contribute constructively to resolving global challenges, advocating for a peaceful and prosperous future.

Reflecting on India’s relationship with its global diaspora, Modi expressed deep respect for the contributions of the Indian community abroad.
