Srinagar,08-02-2025: In a sharp dig at the opposition’s internal discord, Jammu and Kashmir National Conference leader Omar Abdullah took to social media on Saturday to taunt the INDIA bloc, as the BJP appeared poised for a decisive victory in the Delhi Assembly elections.
“Aur lado aapas mein!!! (Keep on fighting each other),” Abdullah posted on X, accompanying his remark with a meme, hinting at the infighting that plagued the alliance.
His comment came as early trends showed the BJP surging ahead of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), while the Congress seemed set for another electoral debacle, failing to make an impact for the third consecutive assembly elections in Delhi. Despite being part of the INDIA bloc for the Lok Sabha polls last year, both AAP and Congress chose to contest the Delhi elections separately—an apparent miscalculation that Abdullah’s remark underscored.
The post reflects growing skepticism over the unity of the opposition alliance, which was initially formed to challenge the BJP on a national level. The electoral setback in Delhi adds to the woes of the INDIA bloc, raising questions about its strategy and cohesion ahead of upcoming state and general elections.
Abdullah’s jibe serves as a stark reminder of the challenges the opposition faces—not just from the ruling party but from within its own fractured ranks.
