Government Approves 57 New Kendriya Vidyalayas Across India
Cabinet Clears Proposal to Establish 57 Additional Kendriya Vidyalayas Nationwide
NEW DELHI, Oct 1: The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the opening of 57 new Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) across India, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced.
Out of the 57 new KVs, seven will be sponsored by the Union Home Ministry, while the remaining schools will be supported by respective state governments.
Currently, India has a total of 1,288 Kendriya Vidyalayas, and the addition of these new schools aims to expand access to quality central education for children of government employees and other eligible students, Vaishnaw said during a media briefing on Cabinet decisions.
