Balochistan Tragedy: Four Missing Men Found Executed Amid Pakistan’s Crackdown

Families and rights groups blame state-backed militias as extrajudicial killings spark outrage across the province

The discovery of four bodies in Balochistan this week has renewed concerns over enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings in the province, highlighting a persistent human rights crisis.

Families and rights organizations have accused Pakistani security forces and state backed militias of perpetrating systematic violence against civilians. The victims had been missing for several days before their bodies were recovered, according to reports from The Balochistan Post.

Three men Quddous Baloch, son of Umaid; Neik Saal Baloch, son of Dilwash; and Nazar Arz Muhammad, son of Arz Muhammad were found dead in the Sorap Dam area of Buleda in Kech district. The men, all drivers engaged in cross border trade, were reportedly detained by Pakistani security forces and members of a pro-government militia, locally referred to as a “death squad,” on September 30. Their bullet riddled bodies were discovered the following day.

Earlier reports had highlighted the abduction of Nazar Arz Muhammad by the same militia, reinforcing fears that state authorities are complicit or turning a blind eye to human rights abuses in the region.

In a separate case, Janzaib Baloch, son of Roshin, a labourer from Babbar Shoor in Pasni, Gwadar district, was found dead near the Makuran Coastal Highway, close to Layri Hassan Hotel in Uthal, Lasbela district. Janzaib had been taken from his home on September 28.

Enforced disappearances followed by the recovery of mutilated bodies have become a distressing pattern in Balochistan. Despite repeated appeals from human rights organizations, authorities have yet to ensure justice or transparent investigations, leaving families demanding accountability and clarity.
