AP and Telangana Chief Ministers Condemn Kurnool Bus Fire Tragedy

Tragic blaze claims 11 lives; leaders call for swift assistance and enhanced passenger safety measures.

Kurnool, Oct 24: The Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have expressed deep shock and grief over the horrific bus fire accident near Chinnatekur village in Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh, which killed 11 passengers and left nine others missing.

A private bus traveling from Hyderabad to Bengaluru caught fire in the early hours of Friday, resulting in the devastating loss of life.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, currently on a visit to the United Arab Emirates, expressed his condolences on social media:

“I am shocked to learn about the devastating bus fire accident. My heartfelt condolences go out to the families of those who have lost their loved ones. Government authorities will extend all possible support to the injured and affected families.”

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy also conveyed his deep shock and instructed state officials to coordinate with Andhra Pradesh authorities to provide immediate assistance. He directed the setup of a helpline and asked the Gadwal District Collector and SP to visit the accident site promptly.

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan described the tragedy as “deeply shocking” and called for enhanced safety standards in public transport to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Former Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy also expressed heartfelt condolences and urged the government to ensure full medical support and assistance for the injured and affected families.

The tragic incident has sparked calls from political leaders for urgent reforms in passenger safety, highlighting the need for strict adherence to safety standards and rapid response mechanisms for such accidents.
