Super Cup 2025: Mohun Bagan SG, East Bengal Take on Chennaiyin and Dempo in All-Indian Group A Clash

Bengal, Oct 25 : Goa is all set to host the AIFF Super Cup 2025-26 as Group A action begins on Saturday with two exciting fixtures. East Bengal FC will take on Dempo SC at the GMC Stadium in Bambolim, while Mohun Bagan Super Giant lock horns with Chennaiyin FC at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda.

East Bengal, having reached the Durand Cup semi-finals and the IFA Shield final, arrive in top form. Head coach Óscar Bruzón expressed confidence ahead of the opener against five time league champions Dempo SC. “We are ready to compete with the best Indian clubs this year. We’ve prepared carefully considering our strengths and our rivals’ weaknesses,” he said. Midfielder Souvik Chakraborty echoed the sentiment, highlighting team unity as key to success.

Dempo SC, drafted in place of Real Kashmir FC due to visa issues, are aiming to revive their legacy in Indian football with an all-Indian squad. Coach Samir Naik said, “It’s about trusting the players you have. Our boys are as good as any foreigners on the field.” Key midfielder Vinay Harji added, “If we combine and play well as a team, we can challenge any opponent.”

Meanwhile, Mohun Bagan SG, freshly crowned IFA Shield champions after defeating East Bengal, are ready to face Chennaiyin FC. Coach José Molina emphasized the balance between attack and defense, saying, “We aim to be strong in both scoring and defending.” Chennaiyin FC, fielding an all-Indian squad, are confident of challenging the Kolkata giants. Coach Clifford Miranda praised his players’ unity and professionalism, while forward Farukh Choudhary highlighted the motivation and talent of the Indian contingent.
